World Book Day Thursday 4th March

This year we are excited to announce that St John’s School will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 4th March.

Our theme for this year is ‘Bedtime Stories.’ We ask that if your child would like to get involved in the celebrations, they are to come to school in pyjamas or onesies.

The PTA are kindly gifting a special book to each class to be shared on the day. Each Class Teacher is preparing activities to support your child’s learning from the book. In addition, the PTA are offering popcorn for the children to enjoy as a treat for a £1 donation.
Bedtime stories (read from a book) are proven to help foster a bond between parents and children, lower kids’ stress levels and reinforce their literacy skills and mastery of language. (Collett Smart- Psychologist.)
